The brainchild of long-time comedy producer Janet A. McLeod, Comedy Gold brings curated comedy events to Melbourne and regional Victoria as well as interstate and internationally. 

From big galas to smaller shows, every event is crafted to suit venues, festivals and audiences.

MORE ABOUT OUR DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS:
Janet A. McLeod has been a fixture of the Melbourne comedy industry for over 25 years, working both onstage and behind the scenes with equal success and enthusiasm.

She has produced shows at festivals including the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Edinburgh Fringe, Glen Eira Storytelling Festival, Melbourne Fringe, and FRINGE WORLD in Perth, and programmed comedy shows for a variety of organisations including the Melbourne Cricket Club, House Of Oz (Edinburgh Fringe 2022), Action Aid, and the Victorian AIDS Council. Janet is a board member of the Ballarat Cabaret Festival and has links to arts organisations and festivals across Australia, South East Asia and Europe. 

She lovingly runs iconic Melbourne comedy room Local Laughs at The Local Taphouse in St Kilda East (Melbourne) each Monday as well Comedy Gold @ Studio 2 Friday nights at The National Theatre in St Kilda.

Janet's close collaboration with and support of countless arts practitioners has gained her the title of 'The Fairy Godmother Of Melbourne Comedy', which - to be honest - really does sum it up.
